I did “30 days of Non-toxic Faves” in my Instagram Stories in January 2022. They are saved to a highlight but I thought I would write them up for easy access AND for those that don’t have IG. In my blog post about Reducing Toxins I cover a little bit of why and how toxins can be reduced. And I would like to reiterate the importance of not stressing about it. Do what you want, when you want. Your body with thank you no matter how you do it. Please don’t add stress to your life. Ain’t nobody got time fo’ dat.
A couple of tips on saving money in order to be able to buy more of the high-end/clean products: A) When I find something I like I usually stock up when there are sales. B) A lot of the products also have Influencer Codes to save 10-15%. C) I only use what I am going to consume, I don’t waste. D) I don’t use a ton of product when I am using it, probably a quarter/half the amount. Take body wash for example, I have had my liquid body cleanser for over a year. Okay, maybe I am a little dirtier than most people. I like it like that…”dirty and thrifty”…that’s catchy. E) This list could also be a great list for gift ideas…for yourself or your loved ones…or me!! haha
Without further ado…the 2022 list of some of my favorite products (complete with links – I hope this helps!) ~
1. Organic Coffee – Favorite Brands: Kion and Lifeboost
- I like my coffee organic, mold free, glyphosate free, etc. It has helped my stomach a lot! No more tummy aches after a cup of coffee.
2. Clean oral products like Lumineux teeth whitening strips (I buy on Amazon) and Risewell toothpaste and floss
- It’s important to protect oral microbiome. Finding products that don’t contain fluoride and other microbiome stripping ingredients is a plus!. Risewell toothpaste and floss have hydroxyapatite – a mineral used restore tooth enamel.
3. Ilia Mascara and Jane Iredale Lash Conditioner
- Avoiding endocrine disruptors on my eyes!
- I use this once a week. It feels so good! And it creates a super foamy lather.
5. My favorite pre-workout or post-workout – Kion Aminos
- My muscles need all the help they can get in the recovery department
6. LMNT electrolytes
- Clean + zero sugar. Gatorade is like so 90s.
7. House Cleaner (and more) – Branch Basics
- I use this for countertops, bathroom, laundry, even dog wash. All in one!
- One concentrate for everything – it’s minimalist, economical and low-toxin!
8. Soaps – Aleavia liquid body cleanser and Onemoredaysoapco bar soap
- I try not to strip my natural microbiome on my skin by using oil based, microbiome friendly soaps.
- Onemoredaysoapco is owned by my dear friend – how cool is that!?! She makes amazing, small batch soaps that are absolutely divine. She makes a variety of scents, and one of the only places I can get my earthy tones!
9. Pique tea crystals
- Triple/quadruple screened. No plastic tea bags involved. My favorites: Matcha, Reishi, Early Grey, Fermented Black, Pu’er and their Vitamin C/Elderberry packets (great to have on hand for cold season/traveling).
10. Credo Beauty
- One stop shop for clean beauty products of all sorts! They have something called “The Credo Clean Standard”, and Fragrance Transparency and you can earn points as you shop more.
11. Daytime face – Protective Day Oil and Malu SPF
12. Nighttime face – Primally Pure Plumping Cream
13. Avocado Mattress
- We got the pillows too and they are adjustable (you can add stuffing or pull some out – genius!). Did you know if you steer away from springs in the mattress you cut down on EMF exposure at night AND dust mites!?!
- A green juice that is organic, non-gmo, glyphosate residue free and other cool stuff.
15. Favorite local restaurant Wise Acre
- They grown/raise most of their own food and they have THE BEST BACON. What more do you need to know?
- Favorite fact about it – contains a naturally mined baking soda, which is a finer grain. This gives it the effectiveness of baking soda, without the irritation most cause. My favorite scent at the moment is “Blue Tansy”.
- For more on deodorants I have tried, check out my post here.
17. Beauty Counter Facial Oil Cleanser
- Oil cleansing helps retain moisture, which is especially good for us with “maturing” skin.
18. Alba Un-petroleum (I got mine on Amazon)
- A non-toxic Vaseline replacement
19. Organifi Reds
- Clean energy, pre-workout, post-workout, mix it with Kion Aminos (listed above), afternoon pick-me-up, extra daily nutrients…the sky is the limit for its uses.
20. BeautyCounter Sunscreen
- There is research coming out that it could be the toxic chemicals in sunscreen that are causing some skin cancers…not the actual sun. Sheesh! Get yo’self some clean sunscreen or some sun shirts and hats.
- They are also banning sunscreens regularly due to their carcinogen ingredients being used which is why it’s extra important to use a non-toxic one.
- Also, don’t be so scared of the sun. Get some morning sun and evening sun. Just don’t burn!
21. Doggy Dental Gel by Mercola – (RATS! now out of stock)
- I liked it because it didn’t have any meat flavoring. I need to find a good replacement.
22. Puracy Natural Stain Remover
23. Lilfox Face Masks
- I love all of the Lilfox products that I have tried. The face masks resonated with me the most. The Jungle Glow doubles as an exfoliant
24. Axiology Balmies
- So many color options! And the balmies can be used on lips, cheeks and eyelids! Their packaging is very Earth friendly too.
25. Dewy Face =
- Jane Iredale Primer
- W3ll People under eye concealer
- BeautyCounter Cream Blush (the one I use is not available, but I linked a similar one, “Truffle” looks the closest)
27. Scout and Cellar Wine
- When I try to be cool and drink some wine. This company allows you to buy 1 bottle at a time vs. setting yourself up for a subscription. It’s biodynamic, and cleeeaaaannnn.
28. Clean Fragrances – linked to the ones in Credo
- Clean fragrances are a must for me! No thanks to endocrine/hormone disrupting formulas! The only migraine I have gotten was from a perfume. My body does not like chemical fragrances.
29. Grow Fragrance Candles and Sprays
30. Non-toxic Peppermint Mocha (sorry Starbuck’s, mine is better ;-P). Not an exact recipe – just product ideas (you do you, boo)
- Clean coffee – refer to #1 on this list
- Vanilla Keto Collagen – for a hint of vanilla (I use just a quarter of a scoop)
- Vanilla Extract – for a hint of vanilla
- Clean milk of choice. In this recipe I used Milked Walnuts
My hope is to help you find some versions of non-toxic items for your life. I hope you enjoy this list and all.of.the.links!
I am getting ready to put together my 2023 list for Instagram and I will update those to the blog soon after.
Sincerely,
EZ E
